On Thursday, a hacker group called "ShinyHunters" said it was responsible for a data breach of Instructure, which manages Canvas.
Universities across the country including UMass Lowell were hit by a computer hack to the Canvas Learning Management System, throwing campuses into chaos on Thursday just as final exams were taking place.
An unknown group of hackers is breaking into systems previously breached by the cybercrime group TeamPCP. Once inside, the hackers immediately kick out TeamPCP and remove its hacking tools from the victims’ systems.
In a statement carried by Fars News Agency, the group said the operation involved both hacking and subsequent strikes on the port, News.Az reports.
A cybersecurity hack has made Canvas unavailable for Ohio State and Kent State students. A hacker group is demanding a ransom.
The now-infamous hacking and extortion collective known as ShinyHunters has once again breached Instructure, the education technology company best known for its popular Learning Management System (LMS) application Canvas.
