Hey everyone! This is Ranger Eric. Look at what I found in the park today! This is the caterpillar stage of a Southern Flannel Moth! These are also commonly referred to as Asps by many. I have wanted to see one of these for quite a while now and this is my first one! This species has barbs located beneath the hair-like structures you see covering its body that can inject venom so definitely appreciate these without touching or picking them up in order to avoid being stung! So happy to tick this
