St Ives All Weather Lifeboat and Inshore Lifeboat were launched on service this evening following a pager alert at 5.19pm With Robert Cocking as Coxswain and George Deacon as Senior Helm, both boats were tasked to assist Devon and Cornwall police at Green Bank Cove. Thankfully after standing by for a period of time a casualty was safely assisted by the police. Portreath Coastguard and St Agnes were also in attendance. Peterhead Lifeboat launched on service this afternoon to assist a sailing vessel which was having machinery issues. Under the command of volunteer coxswain David Weir, the crew swiftly departed the berth and made best speed to the scene in unfavourable conditions. Once on scene it was established that the vessel would be able to make way under her own steam, and required an escort to the safety of Peterhead marina. The crew prepared a towline incase it would be needed but fortunately it was not
